Kathryn C. Novotny is a painter from Normal, Illinois. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in studio arts with a focus in painting and a minor in art history from Illinois State University. There, she received the Elizabeth Stein Wonsook Kim School of Art scholarship from 2021-2023 for her display of academic excellence. She also participated in a study abroad program for art restoration through the Lorenzo de Medici Institute in Florence, Italy. ​

 

Kathryn has shown work at a variety of local venues including University Galleries, Ramp-Arts Gallery, Normal Public Library Community Center, The Coffeehouse, Central Illinois Regional Airport, and the Student Art Gallery at Illinois State University.

 

Saturated colors and minute details are evident throughout her work. She enjoys drawing inspiration from nature and investigates personal perceptions of women's bodies in her figural work.
